ALOHA Parent Testimonial - South Riding, VA Parent Testimonial Following is an ALOHA Parent Testimonial Spring 2014. We surveyed some of our students and their parents about the programs we offer at ALOHA and this is one of the testimonials we received. Srikar Shivani Nadella Parents Suma Raja Nadella South Riding, Virginia Sreeja Ganesh, owner As all parents do, we always try to analyze our kid’s strengths and weaknesses and accordingly help them and encourage them so that they become successful. Our goals were: Improve their focus and concentration Improve their existing math skills and able to solve the problems with higher accuracy and speed. Help them to understand that there are different ways to solve any problem. So, we decided to try ALOHA for math for both our kids. When I went to enroll them in Chantilly/South Riding ALOHA, Sreeja showed me the newly introduced curriculum, English reading and writing. I was very impressed with the content and the syllabusfor reading/writing. After reviewing the overall curriculum,we opined that joining them for English class will assist them in improving their reading/ writing, narration and explanatory skills. Srikar and Shivanijoined ALOHA in Aug 2012. From then we have seen a gradual improvement of their language and math skills. The teachers were great at identifying the improvements that kids require, and also working on them. It helped our kids in many ways. Both our kids are very comfortable with their teach-ers and are always eager to show their work to us. Further, ALOHA conducts annual competitions for both Math and English vocabulary. We have encouraged our kids to participate in these exams and the girls were very enthusiastic to take part especially in the English vocabulary competition. Shivani won the Writer’s excellence award and was 3rd runner up inthe Math Olympiad in the Virginia ALOHA 2013 Competition. Srikar and Shivani’s short stories are also selected for publication in the Anthology of Short Stories by Young Americans. Srikar’s unit level math assessments also are great. We feel great about our children’s progress achieved so far and we are looking forward to this year’s competition.
